Prairie Supports Real Food Farm

Prairie Organic Vodka is proud to partner with Baltimore area restaurants to support Real Food Farm, a non-profit striving to create a viable, sustainable model of agricultural production in Baltimore. Prairie will donate $1 for each signature Prairie cocktail sold from January 18-31. Please stop by the participating restaurants to have an original Prairie cocktail and help localize food production. So far, participating Baltimore restaurants include Woodberry Kitchen, Dogwood, Roy’s, Corks, Abacrombie, Volt (Frederick), and Clementine. Check back soon for more restaurants.

Prairie Natural Appletini
2 oz Prairie Organic Vodka
2 oz Fresh Apple Cider (we used Seedling Apple Cider from a local farmer)
¼ oz Fresh Lemon Juice
½ oz *Simple Syrup
Shake with ice and strain over fresh ice. Garnish with an apple slice or cinnamon stick.
*Simple Syrup = 1 part water & 2 parts organic cane sugar (we use Turbinado) brought to a boil in a sauce pan and cooled
Prairie Chaitini (100% organic martini)
1 part Prairie Organic Vodka
2 parts Original Oregon Chai
1 part Vanilla Silk Soymilk
Prairie Baked Apple Martini
1 part Prairie Organic Vodka
2 parts Spiced Apple Cider
½ part Phillips Apple Brandy
½ part Creamer
2 spoons Brown Sugar
Shake well with ice and strain in martini glass. Garnished with cinnamon stick and brown sugar around rim of glass.
Prairie Tartini
2 oz Prairie Organic Vodka
2 oz Honey-Rhubarb Simple Syrup
4 oz Soda
Shake with ice and strain over fresh ice in a tall glass. Fill the rest of the glass with soda water.

The San Francisco World Spirits Competition and The Tasting Panel Magazine will be conducting trade tastings in eleven markets with Prairie Organic Vodka and other Double Gold Medal winning spirits. A walk-around tasting event will take place at during the day in an acclaimed restaurant where local media and trade, including wine buyers, sommeliers, mixologists, and restaurateurs will have the opportunity to taste, enjoy, and compare the unique group of 2009 Double Gold spirits as well as select 2009 Double Gold wines from the San Francisco International Wine Competition.

Prairie Wins Double Gold Medal at San Fransisco World Spirits Competition

Prairie Organic Vodka was one of the seven vodkas to be given this prestigious award. Double Gold occurs when all judges on a panel agree the spirit is ranked Gold, upgrading it to Double Gold status.
The only competition of its kind in the United States, the 8th annual San Francisco World Spirits Competition brings together the most influential spirits industry professionals in the country to rank the world’s best spirits. This year, 25 judges tasted 847 spirits from 63 countries. Out of the spirits awarded, vodka represented 72 medals.

Prairie Bootleg
Bootleg Mix:
In a blender combine the following:
2 – 12 oz Cans of frozen lemonade (organic if possible)
1 – 12 oz Can of frozen limeade (organic if possible)
1 cup Finely minced, fresh organic mint leaves
1 cup Simple syrup (1 part water & 2 parts organic cane sugar, brought to a boil in a sauce pan and cooled).
Blend together, place it bottle or pitcher and let sit in fridge for an hour or two
Prairie Bootleg:
Fill a tall glass with ice, add 1 oz bootleg mix (stir or shake first), 1 oz Prairie Organic Vodka, fill with charged/sparkling water, stir and enjoy. <Yields approximately about 30 servings>
Prairie Cucumber Mintini
2 oz Prairie Organic Vodka
1 oz Pressed Apple Juice
¼ oz Simple Syrup
2 in. Fresh Cucumber, peeled and chopped
7 Fresh Mint Leaves
In a mixing glass, muddle cucumber and mint. Add remaining ingredients and shake vigorously over ice. Fine strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a cucumber wheel float.
Prairie Lemon Basiltini
2 oz Prairie Organic Vodka
1 oz Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
1 oz Simple Syrup
4 Basil Leaves
Bruise Basil Leaves, add remaining ingredients, shake and strain into martini glass.

The World Beverage Competition is the largest beverage competition in the world as well as accredited as the premier tasting event. Prairie Organic Vodka was featured at the 2008 Food & Wine Entertaining Showcase in Chicago. It was served in two delicious cocktails by famed Blackbird Restaurant Mixologist, Matty Colston.
Lady Killer
2 oz Prairie Organic Vodka
.25 oz Aperol
.5 oz Fresh Grapefruit Juice
.75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
.75 oz Simple Syrup
.75 dash Fennel Extract
Shake with ice and strain into a martini glass.
Garnish with frozen pomelo that’s been tossed in honey and ouzo.
Prairie Orchard Apple
2 oz Prairie Organic Vodka
2 oz Fresh Apple Cider
(Seedling Apple Cider from a local farmer was used.)
.25 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
.5 oz Simple Syrup
Shake with ice and strain over fresh ice.
Garnish with an apple slice.
